I have a similar bag (also from Amazon) that is made of canvas. I was quite pleased with it and would also rate it with 5 stars. The reason for getting this was when you opened the large pockets with the zip at the top the zip runs down the side slightly. Since the material is fairly thin and there is usually a large heavy wallet inside it would bend the flap outwards. If the zip stopped at the ends that would not happen. The reason for extending it is because you can put in larger objects. The zips ar much the same on this one but the material is much stiffer. There are two downsides compare with my older bag. The small pocket at the from is next to useless. I won't even put my keys easily. It does not have a phone size pocket. You the large pocket on the front, which means the phone drops to the Botton and you have to reach inside to check you have it. Also means you have to be careful what else you would put in there. I needed a bag with a handle since I put that over my bike handle so it has to be reasonably big. This handle is sturdy. The handle on my old bag was cloth with a plastic cover. That cracked in the middle fairly quickly separating into two parts, which made the handle a bit uncomfortable. The strap on the new bag is a bit cheap and is long. You can shorten it but only to half the length and there is nothing fixing it at half the length. I'll likely remove it or get a better stop.
